Join us Friday evening for music, wine and beer tastings, refreshments, tours and prizes. Appropriate for high school ages and older. Saturday is family friendly and will include tours and prizes as well.
Friday, January 13
Georgia Rae Family Band, 7-10 pm: The Georgia Rae Family Band delivers a sound that’s fresh but familiar and youthfully evolving, inspired by a mix of folk, bluegrass, classic country, old-time and contemporary folk rock and even a little western swing. Anchored by sisters, lead singer Kelly Jo, Quin (16) on mandolin and banjo, and four-state fiddle champion Georgia Rae (17), these sisters are joined by family members “mom” on guitar and Joe Burie on bass.
Wine & Beer Tasting, 7-9 pm: 21 and over; you will be required to show ID when you enter the library for this tasting. Registration required.
Saturday, January 14
Toothless the Great White Shark, 10:30 am-1:30 pm: Examine the anatomy of a life-sized great white shark made from 90% recycled plastic materials. Learn fascinating facts about shark behavior and ocean life.
Balloon Twisting, 12-2 pm: Amazing balloon sculptures that bring smiles to all ages of kids, even the “big” kids!
Cookbook Author JeanMarie Brownson, 3-4:30 pm: Meet the author of Dinner at Home: 140 Recipes to Enjoy with Family and Friends. Chef Brownson is a food writer for the Chicago Tribune and has a partnership with Rick Bayless. She will demo recipes from her book. JeanMarie will be signing and books will be available for sale (cash or credit cards accepted). Registration required.

Before Hours Library Tour for Businesses, 8-9 am: Big reno at the library is done! Come for a BEFORE HOURS coffee and tour. We’d love to share all the resources that the library has to offer our business community. See our new small meeting and conference rooms, learn about our computer classes, computer skill tutorials and business marketing database, plus how you can get business-related books even if we don’t own them.
